Hallmark Cards launches a unique new collection catering specifically for the ‘Festival of Lights’

Celebrate Hanukkah this year by lighting the Menorah and making the most of the special holiday by sending a personalised greeting to your family and friends from Hallmark’s specialist celebration card range.

Due to an ever-increasing demand for cards that cater specifically for Hanukkah celebrations (1st-9th December), Hallmark has designed a new and exclusive collection of five brand new designs to help family and friends express their joy during the Jewish holiday.

Are you on Santa’s naughty list?

Confess to Hallmark and make sure Santa visits!

Ever wondered  why you don’t get as many Christmas presents as you used to? We’ve given it some thought and we think it’s because Santa doesn’t tend to visit people who have been a bit naughty, which is a problem, as most of us have been at some point!

So, this Christmas we decided to give you the opportunity to confess all the naughty  things  you’ve  ever got away with to help you secure your place on the ‘nice list’ and make sure Santa visits!

Here’s how it will work. From today all you need to do is “confess” to Hallmark via our  Twitter confession  booth.  Just  @HallmarkUK with your confession using the hash tag #XmasConfession. We’ll  be  publishing our favourite confessions in Hallmark’s ultimate naughty list in December, with the overall winner receiving Hallmark’s ultimate Santa stocking, worth £250.

And for everyone who has redeemed themselves by confessing, we’ll give you a special money off ‘redemption’ voucher to use on our site as well as turning you into a Hallmark angel on our Facebook page!

Here’s a couple of confessions to get you started:

  • I hid my sister’s doll, and then the dog ate it. She never found out! #Xmasconfession

If you were King for the day…..

As part of our THIFriday weekly fun and giveaways, we asked what you would do if you were King (or Queen!) for the day, and you didn’t disappoint. Here are some of our favourite responses of what you would do if you suddenly became a Royal!

  • “Free diamonds for everyone” – Under your rule, diamonds aren’t just a girl’s best friend, they are for everyone!
  • “Simon Cowell to perform live on X-Factor” – We loved the idea of Simon Cowell on stage being judged by the nation. We think this song would suit him perfectly.
  • “Send everyone a Hallmark card” – A Hallmark card for everyone with a postage stamp from Buckingham palace would certainly brighten up mantelpieces across the land. We’ve just given away 10,000 cards, which is a start!
  • “Monday to be proclaimed Chocolate Day!” – We don’t like Mondays but free chocolate for everyone would greatly improve the day!  You also suggested lots of lie-ins with a five day weekend. That sounds lovely.
  • “Party at the palace” – You wanted to invite everyone to the palace for a huge knees-up. Although we think it’s a brilliant idea, we wouldn’t like to be there to tidy up the day after!

We love your ‘retro’ responses!

Fridays are our favourite day of the week and that’s not just because it’s the start of the weekend, it’s because it’s our weekly Twitter competition day, THIFriday. It’s our chance to have some fun and to show you all that we care by giving away great prizes on the hour, every hour.

We want to say a huge thanks to everyone who has entered THIFriday so far and we really love reading all your fun responses to our questions.

We especially enjoyed hearing which characters you’d like to see joining the likes of Bugs Bunny and the Dallas crew in our retro greetings cards. We take all your feedback on board so watch this space, we may have a new ‘blast from the past’ card coming your way very soon!

Here are some of our favourite suggestions that really tickled us and made us think of the good old days!

  • Danger Mouse – he emerged as one of your ultimate retro characters.  Here’s a video to remind you why he takes the cheese as the coolest mouse we know.
  • SuperTed – Another firm favourite,  an extraordinary teddy bear that has managed to stick in our minds for years after he was thrown out of the toy factory!
  • The A-team – These soldiers of fortune are so popular that Hollywood has made a new movie about them this year, so it’s no wonder these renegade retro icons were on your list. I pity the fool!
  • Care Bears – These cuddly bears seemed to be popular for a lot of you on Twitter.
  • Poddington Peas – This cartoon was the biggest surprise for us here at Hallmark as we had no idea they were so popular. Nevertheless, they win hands down for the suggestion that got us singing along the most!

Confess to Hallmark and win a £250 Christmas stocking!

This Christmas, we’ve decided to give you the opportunity to confess all the naughty things you’ve ever got away with to help you secure your place on the ‘nice list’ and make sure Santa visits!

All you need to do is visit our special confession booth which will be open from Monday 15th November until 7th December. Well done to the winner of our iPad competition

You may remember a little while ago we ran a ‘refer a friend’ competition to win an iPad. Well congratulations to our lucky winner Ruby, who was randomly selected out of the thousands of entrants. She has been in touch to tell us that she’s absolutely delighted with her prize.

But that’s not all because we also promised to add an extra prize for every 10,000 entries we received, and in the end more than 30,000 of you got involved! This means two other lucky people will receive an iPod Touch shortly!
